Shawnah Murphy:  Shawnah grew up in Oklahoma where she spent her summers working and playing with lots of animals on her aunt's farm. She dreamed of growing up to work with animals and this dream became a reality in 1998 when she became a veterinary assistant in a veterinary office. After two years Shawnah began seeking a position with potential for growth and learning in veterinary medicine. She took a position as a technician with Dr Brinkmann in 2000 and has been with him ever since. She really enjoys working with a clientele that treats pets as family members. She professes to love coming to work everyday and feels she is truely living her dream in this setting. Shawnah is a workaholic and splits her time between the clinic in the daytime and her husbands rock and roll band in the evening. She is promoter, roadie, and chief groupie for The Mighty Quinn band. Her life gets pretty "hairy" with both jobs plus taking care of her fur family which consists of three dogs, two cats, two chincillas, and three reptiles.

Kelly Johansson: Kelly has always had a passion for animals and knew early that she would work with them. She likes most animals, though she avoids our snake clientele. She began her career in veterinary medicine in 1998 with her now best friend and coworker Shawnah. After a few years she decided to take a break from veterinary medicine and went to work in the human medical field. Unsatisfied without animals in her career, she took her cat to Dr Brinkmann and Shawnah for a life threatening condition and rediscovered her fascination with veterinary medicine. She joined Dr Brinkmann and his team in 2003 and professes to looking forward to coming to work every day. She is an invaluable member of the ACWLW team and family. Her furry family consists of nine indoor cats and the four legged office greeter Kingston, the super friendly and loving Boston Terrrier.

Angela Howey: Angela was born in New York but grew up in Florida. All her life she has been bringing home injured and orphaned animals to heal or care for. Following graduation she married her husband of the last fifteen years, Aaron. They had two girls in 1996 and 2000. Angela began her career in veterinary medicine in 2002 as a veterinary assistant. Within six months she was promoted to technician. After six years she began to feel the need to expand her knowlege and experience so she spent an exciting year and a half working nights and weekends at an emergency clinic. She found the work intense and challenging but felt she was spending too much time away from her family. Angela took a position at our clinic in 2007 and reports an instant affinity for the ACWLW family. Angela brings a methodical attention to detail as well as great compassion to our team. In addition to her human family she has a dog, three indoor cats, and a bearded dragon. She states that while her professional life is very ordered her home life can be quite chaotic. Her husband Aaron keeps them all grounded.

Tiffany Hammond: Another Lake Worth native, Tiffany has always dreamed of working with or around animals. An accomplished horsewoman herself, tiffany began her animal career as a groom in Wellington fl in 1998. For ten years she travelled from Florida to the northern states and New England grooming for multiple riders including two olympic competitors. Desiring to expand her knowlege and experience by becoming a veterinary technician, Tiffany joined our team in May of 2009. Her enthusiasm and love of animals has been a welcome addition to our clinic. In her off time Tiffany enjoys competitive softball, skating, music, and boating at Peanut Island. Tiffany claims to have "the two best dogs in the world", Maggie and Charlie.

"Dogs need to sniff the ground; it's how they keep abreast of current events. The ground is a giant dog newspaper, containing all kinds of late-breaking dog news items, which, if they are especially urgent, are often continued in the next yard."...Dave Barry
